Hospitality

Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it. – Hebrews 13:2

Hospitality is the active desire to invite, welcome, receive, and care for those who are strangers so that they find a spiritual home and discover the love of Christ. Christian hospitality stretches us, challenges us, and pulls out of us our utmost creativity and hard work to offer the welcome of Christ. This kind of hospitality describes a genuine love for others, a love that motivates church members to openness and adaptability, a willingness to change behaviors in order to accommodate the needs, and receive the talents of newcomers.

Worship

Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing. – Psalm 100:2

From ancient times, followers of Christ gathered together to sing, pray, listen to God’s word, and share in the common meal. We continue this practice today in order to seek to encounter God in Christ, so that He may reshape our lives, renew hope, and connect us to one another.  We don’t attend a worship gathering to squeeze God into our lives; we seek to meld our lives into God’s.

Small Groups

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable. – Romans 12:2

Small groups encompass all the ministries that help us grow in faith outside of weekly worship. Spiritual growth does not come easily or automatically; it requires placing ourselves in the community to learn the faith with others. Jesus calls us to be disciples – to follow Him and continually grow our faith, and, in the process of following and growing our faith, we are called to help others grow in their faith.

Missions & Service

Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me. – Matthew 25:40

Missions and Service includes the projects and work people do to make a positive difference in the lives of others for the purposes of Christ, whether or not they will ever be a part of the community of faith. It is also one of the fundamental activities of church life; failure to serve the world in some way results in a deterioration of the church’s vitality and ability to make disciples of Jesus Christ. In every act of compassion, the Kingdom of God breaks into our world.
